Have you ever had surgery? What for?
When I was envisioning having children, the birthing process really wasn’t taken into consideration.
First born son decided that he wanted to pop out a good 7 weeks early. Truth be told, I was dehydrated and probably tempting a uti. My water broke and apparently trying to keep a not-fully ready baby in there can cause troubles. C-section it was.
Second son, apparently spent a good amount of time doing flips and flops, and twisted himself around in his umbilical cord. He was a day before his date, but was having heart rate issues when “it was time”. Yay! Another C-section!
Daughter in the middle, I had been hoping for a midwife birth. The experience at the hospital the first go round left me with an incredibly negative outlook for Fairfax hospital. I had no desire to go back. Ever. However, vbac isn’t something that my chosen midwife wanted to do. Back to a different hospital it was. Daughter didn’t need any surgery, and came out a little on the big side, but healthy.
I’ve been told that c-sections are easier for the baby, but harder for the mother. I’ll concur.
I love my children, and am super happy that they are all healthy and happy enough.
