What quality do you value most in a friend?
I think most of us have that one friend growing up that we think we’ll be besties with “forever”. I’m sure some of those friendships have passed the test of time.
Mine did not.
I was the reject kid. I had very few friends, limited social skills, and public school was nice enough to place me in the “special kids” program. I was told that I had trouble focusing.
Turns out I had some issues at home and school just wasn’t very interesting. Go figure.
Enter the new girl from across the pond. We became friends easily and fast.
Unfortunately, she wasn’t the “hold each other” up, type. She was the “I’ll stand on you, and then maybe you can tag along” type.
This was a retrospective learning. Bummer, dude.
Se la vie.
Lots of unhealthy learning opportunities ensued, and… we don’t currently keep in touch. I know, you cannot imagine.
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right? Or just leaves you with bitter scars and an outlook on like that involves some scowls.
She is still on my list of self-healing. Maybe next.
Happy Friday. Go forth and do good things.
Be safe. Be amazing if you can muster it. Hugs.
