Have you ever been camping?
Most everyone knows that bird-song is most common in the mornings. We associate the little chirps and tweets with sunrise and dawn. After that, the song changes to something a little less Vivaldi.
But most folks are asleep when the nights song of dusk melts into the blackness of night. Its the music of bugs, owls and sometimes fox that accents the nights.
I went camping a few years back, at least 5 now, at Shenandoah National Park.
I knew about the aforementioned bugs. What I did not know was how much their song changed through the course of the night. I was not sleeping well and had the opportunity to listen to the distinct change in tune.
It was beautiful.
