How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?
Goals are very personal. There is no “one size fits all” remedy for saying “no”. Or “yes”. Or even changing goals to meet who your new evolving person is.
Once upon a time, I wanted to be CSO of this huge company I worked for. Please, laugh with me. I could have made it, but anyone who knows me would know that’s now the furthest thing from who I am now. I would have been miserable. So, goals change.
If we can accept and hear how we are changing as people, it becomes easier to say “no” to what does not suit us.
It can be a polite “no, thank you”, and it can be an emphatic “hell, no”. As needed.
