I’m sure it seemed innocent the first time you watched it. Probably the second and the third too!
The Wizard of Oz, a childhood favorite for many. My sister and I would watch it when it came on TV. Yeah, gen x here.
I never read into it, or paid much attention to what was actually going on in this movie. If you’d were an adult, not a munchkin or anthropomorphic something, you were either a witch or a wizard. Yeah, this was Dorothy’s subconscious take on the world as she enters Oz. It’s black or white. Good. Bad.
It might be the Literature major in me. Or it’s the wine. If I ever go for my PhD, it’s going to be on The Wizard of Oz and the perception of Good and Evil.
