At some point, when brick and mortar bookstores were more popular, I picked up a book based solely on the cover. I actually do that a lot. 🤷🏻♀️ This specific book was called River God, written by Wilbur Smith. I loved it. I’ve always been a fan of Ancient Egypt. As the next few books in the series emerged, I ingested those as well. Incredible characters, vivid world building, compelling plot. All the things.
Then, there was a pause.
Other books took the place of the Ancient Series. Not forgotten, but no longer front and center.
Imagine my delight to discover that there are more!? Eight total, with the latest having come out recently. So happy. I did a little happy dance. It’s like that wag that dogs do when they are happy to see you. Happy dance.
So, highly recommended if the ancient gods strike your fancy…
