I made it!

1–2 minutes

End of last month I received an email titled “Acceptance.” It saw it on a Sunday morning, much like this one. It was quite possibly the coolest thing in the world. Somebody, Dark Horses Magazine specifically, liked my story “Something About a Diner” will be included in their December issue.

Blood Rites was originally self-published via Lulu press a little over ten years ago. “The Machine” went up to the endless halls of Amazon in 2019. So, needless to say, it’s been a hot minute since anything new and finished has made it pubic from my keyboard.

I did finish (still untitled) a science fiction short earlier this week. It is in the chrysalis phase between first draft and first edit. I suspect that it will begin its transformation soon.

I’m not good at boasting, or tooting my own horn, or really asking people up front “Hey, read my stuff?” So that I pulled out enough gumption to submit this thing after it had already been rejected back in December, is big for me. I’m hoping that it begins a streak of success in my new career. IT has been downgraded to “The side job”. At least I’m telling myself that.

Be happy, be well. Be awesome!!
